Minister for the Environment Carole Dieschbourg clarified this in her reply to a parliamentary question by MP Fred Keup from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr).
Moulin Dieschbourg ("Dieschbourg Mill") made the headlines a few weeks ago. The company, which at one time was run by the current Minister for the Environment, was not a member of Valorlux, which is responsible for the proper disposal of packaging from companies' products, as required by law.
Moulin Dieschbourg was then contacted in writing by the Environment Agency, which asked that the company fix the issue and comply with the legislation.
In her reply, the Minister added that the law does not provide for a company to pay a retroactive fee to Valorlux if it does not become a member until later.
