Despite the Christmas closures there have been plenty of opportunities for business owners to encourage shoppers this month, with the last four Sundays offering extended shopping hours across the country.
Court offices are open until midday on Christmas Eve. In the capital and Diekirch, some services will be available between 2pm and 6pm for exceptional procedures.
The 12 regional police commissaries will be open 24 hours over the festive period.
Public transport will run as normal until 8pm on Tuesday evening. For Christmas Day and Boxing Day, the holiday timetable will apply.
