MP André Bauler from the Democratic Party (DP) recently filed a parliamentary enquiry concerned with the cashpoints of Post Finance throughout the country. Since many Post branches closed in recent years, MP Bauler wanted to know whether this also applied to their cashpoints. He further cited the one in Troisvierges as having been defect since August.
In his response, Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot explained that since the beginning of the year, Post Finance clients are able to withdraw money from any cashpoint in Luxembourg and Europe without additional costs. This means that they have 450 cashpoints at their disposal in the Grand Duchy alone.
Post currently has 36 cashpoints left in Luxembourg, but that number will be reduced to 30 by the end of the year. The remaining ones will be replaced by newer types that also allow for deposits to be made.
The cashpoint in Troisvierges is currently not operational by advice of the police since it was raided 14 times in the span of the last four years. However, it is expected to become active again once a new security concept is installed.
