This first weekend of August, Steinfort will once again become a showcase for vintage machinery, as the Mechanical Freaks club hosts its 11th national fair dedicated to pre-1985 motorcycles, tractors and vehicles. The event stretches from the local primary school to the ‘An de Keeseminnen’ cultural centre.
Spanning three hectares of green space and paved paths, the event will offer nearly 7,500 m² to exhibitors, including 500 m² under cover. Enthusiasts, collectors, and curious visitors will find stalls brimming with spare parts, vintage tools and period equipment – a trove for those looking to rekindle memories or indulge a passion. But this year, there’s also a touch of elegance in the air.
For only the second time, Steinfort will host an Elegance Contest for historic vehicles – a refined tribute to the golden age of motoring. Inspired by major international showcases, the competition highlights models beginning with D, E or F, celebrating iconic designs from an era when style and innovation went hand in hand.
“Every car tells a story”, the organisers emphasise, adding that “they’re rolling works of art that bring together technology, aesthetics, and cultural heritage”. A tribute to decades past, the event promises to charm both seasoned connoisseurs and newcomers alike.
Mechanical Freaks is a club founded in 2015 that brings together around forty members passionate about vintage machines. Tractors, motorcycles, bulky or rare cars, anything with a story and character finds a place in their garage – or their hearts.
In addition to their flagship Vintage Cars and Bikes event, the club also regularly takes part in fairs and road trips across Luxembourg and beyond, helping to build strong ties among Luxembourgish and European collectors.
