Luxembourg City’s Centre for Educational Animation and Recreation (CAPEL) has issued an invitation to the anticipated summer event ‘Kanner in the City’ (‘Children in the City’), taking place on 28 and 29 July 2023. This traditional festival of games is an integral part of the children’s activities and leisure programme known as ‘Aktioun Bambësch’ (‘Bambësch Action’), which was first established in 1973.
This year, the event revolves around the theme ‘Spill-Alarm’ (‘Play Alarm’), featuring games related to water, movement, dance, and crafts. Children aged four to twelve, along with their parents, will have the opportunity to engage in various games and workshops organised by professionals from Luxembourg and different European countries.
Similar to the numerous entertaining activities that the City organises over the course of a year, this event fosters participation from both adults and children, respecting their culture, creativity, and spontaneity.
On Friday 28 July, activities will be held at Place d’Armes, Place Guillaume II, Place Jan Palach, Place des Capucins, and Place du Puits-Rouge from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. On Saturday 29 July, events will take place at Place d’Armes, Place Guillaume II, and Place Jan Palach from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.
Participation is free of charge.
