The Justice Chapter was already adopted by a two-thirds majority on Wednesday. The same two-thirds majority will be necessary in all of Thursday’s votes.

Three sections will be up for vote:

  • ‘Organisation of the government’, which focuses on the country’s symbols, the language, and the monarchy.
  • ‘Rights and duties’, which is concerned with the right to start a family and the best interest of a child.
  • ‘Chamber of Deputies and Council of State’.

Another vote is scheduled for Thursday afternoon on the draft law for government aids for wood pellets. The government plans on subsidising pellets at 35% with a maximum reduction of €200 per metric tonne. This initiative is still part of the tripartite agreement signed with social partners at the end of September. The reduction will be limited to 2023.
