The CGFP, Luxembourg's main public sector union, set out its position at its recent general assembly. It named two conditions for any extension of the current measures: all provisions must remain exactly as they are, and the extension must be limited to a maximum of three months.
The union argues that three months would give the authorities time to analyse the situation in detail and make a well-founded decision on further steps.
The CGFP intends to present these demands at Thursday's meeting of the Tripartite Monitoring Committee, which brings together government, employer and union representatives to discuss socio-economic measures.
