38 groups led the annual carnival procession in Schifflange on Sunday, where an estimated 10,000 visitors came to celebrate the 2023 edition of the local Cavalcade.

As per tradition, people threw candy and other sweets for children from the top of their festive wagons. Luxembourger’s were also joined by groups from Belgium and France.

This year’s edition of the Schifflange Cavalcade cost €21,000. Part of this investment is covered by the sale of tickets

Last year, the festive procession still had to be called off on short notice due to the ongoing pandemic.
The next Cavalcade will take place in Esch-sur-Alzette on Sunday, followed by the ones in Kayl, Wasserbillig, Pétange, and Remich.
