According to the police, a motorist driving on the N11 between Gonderange and Junglinster at around 4am on Thursday morning suddenly noticed that the centre console of his vehicle had caught fire.
Fortunately, the driver managed to stop and get out of the car before the flames got out of control. The fire brigade was able to get the situation under control.
No one was injured.
