
The suspects fled in the direction of Hamm, but were quickly intercepted by officers. The public prosecutor’s office was informed and the stolen goods were recovered. One of the suspects, who was heavily intoxicated, was placed in a detention cell.
At around 3.30am, police received a report of a motorist driving erratically over Wallendorf Bridge. The driver tested positive for alcohol, was fined, and had to leave the vehicle behind.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, police carried out a large-scale alcohol control operation in Echternach between 1.30am and 4am. A total of 163 drivers were tested, with five returning positive results. However, none were over the limit to the extent that their licence had to be confiscated.
