One incident occurred in Marnach during the night of December 8 to 9, where assailants targeted a sales outlet. The criminals forcefully breached the establishment by shattering a glass door and made off with a substantial amount of money. The police have initiated an investigation to apprehend those responsible for the incident.

In a separate incident, a residence on Rue du Village in Brouch fell victim to a break-in. Preliminary reports suggest that the intruders gained entry through a first-floor window, proceeding to ransack multiple rooms before making a quick getaway.

Another break-in unfolded in the same village of Brouch, this time on Rue du Moulin. Here, a window was similarly shattered to gain unauthorised access to the premises. In response to both incidents in Brouch, the judicial police promptly arrived at the scenes and initiated investigations.

Mayor urges caution as burglaries surge in Berdorf

In response to a recent spike in burglary incidents, Mayor Joe Nilles of Berdorf has reached out to RTL, calling on residents to exercise heightened caution and remain vigilant.

Over the past two weeks, the municipality has recorded five instances of break-ins. The perpetrators have predominantly gained entry to residences from the rear, a trend highlighted on the municipality’s official website. Additionally, it appears that the criminals possess knowledge of residents’ schedules, targeting homes when occupants are away.

In light of these developments, the municipality is issuing a collective plea for residents to be alert and observant. Mayor Nilles encourages the community to keep a watchful eye on their surroundings and promptly report any suspicious activities to the police.
