On Saturday morning, the police reported that several flats in Bertrange and Strassen had been broken into and that valuable items had been stolen. In addition, two shops were broken into in Rollingergrund and Bavigne.

In Luxembourg City, three car break-ins were reported on Rue Dicks, Rue du Cimetière, and Rue de Leudelange. Stolen items included bags as well as a backpack containing a laptop. Meanwhile, a handbag and identity documents were stolen from a car at the Capellen service station.

Drink-driving accidents

On Friday evening, around 9pm, a driver lost control of their vehicle between Kahler and Hivange, resulting in the car skidding off the carriageway and ending up on its side. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. A positive alcohol test led to the immediate suspension of their driving licence. The CR106 was temporarily closed for traffic to allow for clearing operations.

At approximately 10.40pm, a drink driver was involved in an accident at the ‘um Däich’ roundabout in Esch-sur-Alzette. No injuries were reported, but the driver’s licence was confiscated, and charges were filed.

Just before midnight, a serious accident involving a quad bike occurred in Rodange, leading to one person being hospitalised. The driver lost control, colliding with a row of parked cars. First aid was administered on-site before the individual, found to be inebriated, was transported to the hospital by ambulance. As a result, their driving licence was revoked.

Friday night saw three additional driving licences revoked in Hesperange, Bascharage, and Differdange.
