A police patrol was duly dispatched to Rue du Pont, where they discovered two men in the midst of a physical altercation. One of the men was brandishing a baseball bat, which he attempted to conceal behind a hedge when he noticed the police approaching.
He then tried to flee, but was quickly caught by officers. It turned out the man with the bat had been using it as a weapon in order to threaten his victim into handing over their valuables.
Police also discovered several packets of hashish strewn about the scene, thought to belong to the perpetrator.
The man was duly arrested by order of the public prosecutor’s office and brought before a judge on Friday morning.
