A lorry broke down on the right-hand lane on the motorway between Pontpierre and Foetz, also blocking the hard shoulder. At 4.15 pm, there were still 10 km of tailbacks, which have been exacerbated by work taking place on the same route. Just before 5pm, traffic jams continue.
There were also reports of tailbacks on the A1 between Kirchberg and the Cessange interchange, after two cars were involved in a crash. The accident has since been cleared.
