The British Embassy in Luxembourg brought together academics, policy experts, and humanitarian representatives at the National Library of Luxembourg on 12 October to discuss life under Russian occupation and Ukraine's resilience amid the ongoing war.

The event featured two panels, 'Life Under Occupation' and 'Resilience in Free Ukraine', examining Russian repression in occupied territories and the challenges faced by Ukrainian communities.

Opening the discussions, British Ambassador Joanne Olivier stressed the importance of defending international law and national sovereignty, describing Russia's invasion as "a direct challenge to the principle that borders cannot be changed by force".
