On Christmas Eve, the police received reports of a series of break-ins or at least attempted break-ins.
An example being a break-in at a family home on Rue de l’Europe in Bereldange on Sunday evening. An unknown person tried to poke through the window shutters when he was surprised by the homeowner. The burglar promptly ran away.
A similar scenario unfolded on Christmas Eve in a house on Rue Wilson in the Gare district of Luxembourg City. Here, too, a person was still at home and the unknown person fled the scene. The police was not able to locate the suspect.
In both cases, the police conducted on-site investigations and are currently pursuing inquiries.
