On Wednesday, the City of Luxembourg announced that three municipal swimming pools would reopen their doors in the capital.

The swimming pools in question are the Badanstalt, located at 12 rue des Bains, the municipal swimming pool of Bonnevoie, located at 30 rue Sigismond, and the municipal swimming pool of Belair, located at 14 rue d'Ostende.

All three pools will reopen on 15 September with strict hygiene measures. Visitors must book a slot in advance in order to make use of the pool. Wellness areas will remain closed and group lessons are still on hold.

Communal areas such as changing rooms and showers will be regularly disinfected, and masks or face coverings will be mandatory while using the changing rooms.

The City of Luxembourg underlined the requirement for a reservation, stating anyone without an advance booking will be turned away.

Reservations will consist of two-hour slots depending on availability. The pools will have a limited capacity for each time slot:

The Badanstalt will be able to accommodate 20 people.

Bonnevoie will allow 32 users per slot (24 in the large pool and 8 in the small pool).

The Belair swimming pool will accommodate 30 people, 20 in the main pool and 10 in the small pool.

Reservations can only be made by telephone, for a maximum of four people and for the current week.

The City of Luxembourg has published the opening hours for each pool here.
