MP Sven Clement from the Pirate Party recently filed an urgent parliamentary enquiry in response to the spike in bronchiolitis cases in Luxembourg, notably affecting the country’s children’s hospital.

In her response, Minister of Health Paulette Lenert explained that so far, no sick children have had to be transferred to different wards. However, single rooms have been turned into double rooms to increase capacity limits.

Minister Lenert further noted that Luxembourg’s hospitals are in constant communication, monitoring the number of available beds. In the event of a shortage, patients will be transferred to different hospitals.

In the meantime, an emergency plan has been prepared, however Minister Lenert did not provide further details.
