Alma, a female golden retriever, who has already been through quite a few mishaps in her 10 years of life, including being abandoned in the woods some time ago, had the misfortune to be struck recently by bone cancer. The disease was diagnosed at her animal shelter and Alma had to have one of her front legs amputated after being given six-months to live.
And that’s where Dave Delvaux’s family comes in, who hope to give Alma a new lease of life alongside other dogs at the shelter. And although Alma’s courage is incredible, her new two-legged friends are heartbroken to see her struggling to get around on three legs.
So they launched an appeal on Facebook to find Alma a prosthesis made from a 3D printer.
They explained to RTL that they were mainly looking for people who already had some experience in making 3D prostheses who could help them design a custom-made piece to give Alma as much relief as possible.
