Luxemburger Wort first reported about the incident, which is said to have taken place at 2pm on Thursday. A man was said to have threatened bank employees to hand over money. He then fled the building.
Police immediately launched a manhunt and were able to locate the alleged perpetrator several minutes later.
The public prosecutor's office is still expected to communicate details later.
