
Two young muggers attempted to steal a phone from an adolescent in Rue Pasteur in Differdange on Saturday. When the victim tried fighting back, they assaulted him, but escaped the scene empty-handed. The victim suffered injuries in the attack and needed medical attention.
Two adolescents were also brutally assaulted by a group of three in Rue Jos Moscardo in Rodange. Both victims were repeatedly hit before the attackers fled the scene with their phones. The incident occurred at half past three in the afternoon on Sunday.
Charges were pressed in both cases.
A brawl between two men erupted in Rue de Gare in Burange during the night from Sunday to Monday. The event unfolded around 4am and was triggered when one of them insulted the other man’s partner. After physical retaliation, the man fled the scene.
Police were however able to identify the fugitive attacker in a car soon after. When officers stopped and checked the driver, they found that he was drunk and therefore slapped with a fine.
An attempted break-in took place in Rue de Trier in Bonnevoie. At 11.30am, two burglars were caught in the act of entering a residential building through the basement. A search for the culprits proved unfruitful.
Another burglar was similarly unlucky when he entered a first-floor apartment in Rue des Romains in Bonnevoie through an open window. The inhabitant was home at the time and quickly realised what had happened. According to a preliminary report, nothing was stolen.
A third burglar entered a residential building in Rue Marguerite-Séraphine Beving in Luxembourg City. Officers only discovered a broken window near the main door.
