The ordeal, which stretched over three days, saw the owner of a trust be burgled and assaulted in his home, then the perpetrators broke into the firm's site in Mühlenbach, where they left two jewellers tied up after stealing valuable watches. Finally, the perpetrators escaped to Paris with a hostage.
The court sentenced the four defendants to prison, with sentences varying between two and 18 years. Additionally, the assailants must pay a total of €572,500 to seven civil parties.
