
Out of the 289 checked, 19 tested positive for alcohol consumption. 17 of these received an oral warning, or were charged, while the other 3 of these were significantly over the limit and had their licences rescinded.
A robbery took place in Ettelbrück's Groussgaas on Saturday around 3pm. The perpetrator threatened the shop assistant with a knife and stole the till. Shortly after the robber made his getaway, police caught up with him. He was sent to the examining magistrate on Sunday morning.
A drunk driver hit a concrete barrier on Rue de Luxembourg in Bous around 6pm on Saturday evening. No one was injured, yet the driver had his licence removed.
Around 9.30pm, a driver who seemed to have been drinking on the Esch motorway stood out. He was stopped at the level of Leudelange.
Just after midnight, officers became aware of a car at Remerschen petrol station: both the driver and passenger had been drinking. The woman had consumed so much alcohol she was brought to hospital, the driver was over the limit.
On Rue Hollerich in the city centre, there was a collision between two cars around 1am that also injured two pedestrians. No one was seriously injured, but one of the drivers was under the influence. Their licence was revoked and they received a driving ban.
Two hours later, police stopped a car that was driving the wrong way down a one way street in Mersch; once again alcohol was involved.
