Shortly after midnight in the capital, police were alerted to a café on Rue Joseph Junck, where a fight had broken out between two men. An aggressive dispute had quickly become physical, with one person sustaining minor injuries and requiring medical attention at the scene. The police took the other individual into custody following a medical check-up, where it turned out he also had a warrant out for his arrest.
At around the same time, officers in Esch-sur-Alzette stopped a man on suspicion of drug possession. A search revealed he did have drugs on his person and a report was drawn up. It later transpired that a warrant had already been issued for his arrest over a previous misdemeanour. He was taken into custody as a result.
Finally, investigations have been launched after a person was attacked on Rue Jules Fischer in Luxembourg City on Wednesday afternoon. According to initial reports, the victim had arranged to meet with a potential buyer for a watch. In order to gauge whether the buyer was genuine, the seller opted to only bring the watch packaging to the meeting. The victim was subsequently attacked by a man with a knife, who stole the bag containing the packaging and ran away.
