Attempts were made to locate the would-be intruder, albeit without success.
The police have since launched an appeal for witnesses. Anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the area, or anyone who notices their belongings are missing from their vehicle, or if their vehicle has been damaged, should contact Diekirch/ Vianden police on (+352) 244 80 1000 or send an email to police.diekirchvianden@police.etat.lu.
Police have issued a reminder to motorists to avoid leaving valuable items in clear view in their vehicles, and to ensure their car is locked when not in use. Further tips can be found on the police website.
