The man tried to leave the shop without paying for several bottles of alcohol. Security staff managed to stop him and called the police.
It then turned out that the man had already stolen a bottle of alcohol at a Diekirch petrol station earlier that day.
The public prosecutor's office ordered his arrest. He has already faced an examining magistrate.
