
Officers located a vehicle involved in a traffic accident in Leudelange at around 7pm on Saturday. The driver was found to be over the legal alcohol limit. As a result, the vehicle was towed, and the driver’s licence was revoked on the spot.
Another motorist tested positive for alcohol on the Roud Bréck in Luxembourg City after being stopped for speeding at around 2.30am on Saturday. Due to irregularities in the vehicle documents, the car was towed, and a provisional driving ban was issued.
At around 4am, a vehicle was reported swerving between Wincrange and Lentzweiler, repeatedly crossing into the oncoming lane. The driver’s breath test returned positive, leading to the immediate revocation of his licence. Around the same time, another motorist was stopped in Friddhaf for similar driving behaviour. He was also found to be over the legal alcohol limit, resulting in his vehicle being towed and his licence being revoked.
Officers located an individual who was harassing passers-by on Route d’Arlon around 11pm. The suspect attempted to flee during the police check but was located shortly afterwards. Following a medical examination, the person was detained overnight in a police cell.
On Sunday morning, police encountered three men arguing with security staff in front of a bar on Rue Fort Neipperg near the central railway station. The men refused to calm down or leave the premises. As all three were heavily intoxicated, they underwent a medical examination before being detained for the night.
Over the weekend, police received more than 20 reports of noise disturbance from across the country. In most cases, the situation had already calmed down by the time officers arrived. In other instances, police were able to resolve the disturbances on site.
