The 36th edition of the Agricultural Fair set a new record: 39,000 visitors made their way over to Ettelbrück this weekend.
The overall space had been extended by three hectares, with no less than 327 exhibitors and organisations hailing from a total of 8 countries presenting their produce.
Over the weekend there were workshops, demos and other kinds of entertainment, all with the aim of closing the cultural distance between the people, agriculture, and new production methods.
Sunday was also the day that Agricultural Minister Romain Schneider handed over the 11. Organic-Agrarian-Prize, a prize worth €4000.
This year marks a special edition, since the award was presented to the winner of winners of the years 2009-2015: the IBLA - Institut fir Biologesch Landwirtschaft an Agrarkultur - the centre for research and consulting in the field of organic agriculture and viticulture in Luxembourg.
Our colleagues from RTL Telé Lëtzebuerg were also present, hosting a version of the popular game “Familienduel” - stacking family duels against each other - on Saturday afternoon, with a number of public figures such as Chamber president Fernand Etgen only too happy to participate.
And the dates for the 2020 have already been set: the fair is to take place from the 3. to the 5. July of next year.
