ACEN criticises that for the past 2.5 years, lecturers have not received any replies when applying to become civil servants. The Ministry of Education is completely ignoring them, according to ACEN President Luc Wildanger.
The conditions for becoming a civil servant are also poor, which is why many people are reluctant to do so.
ACEN is also still waiting for the Ministry to clarify why employees in schools are required to teach 75% more lessons than civil servants. In extreme cases, a lecturer ends up teaching as many classes in ten years as a civil servant in fifteen, according to ACEN.
Substitutes currently teach close to one third of high school lessons
