On Friday morning, the Chamber of Employees (CSL) published a statement reaffirming their opposition to the pension reform project.
In the statement, the CSL said it was disappointed that consultations had taken place without calling a tripartite meeting, so that whatever pension reform proposals take place could not be considered part of balanced social discussions.
"[The] tripartite decision-making model, which has been proven for decades, was rejected in favour of an approach that respects neither the spirit nor the requirements of balanced social dialogue", the employee association wrote.
While the CSL welcomes selected aspects of the reform plan, such as the increase in the contribution rate, the maintenance of the end-of-year allowance and more flexible student periods, it wrote that all other propositions included within the plan needed to be reworked. It called for the plan to be revised in genuine, transparent social dialogue with all stakeholders present.
