An attempted burglary at a family home in Angelsberg was foiled by a resident on Tuesday morning, sparking a police manhunt that led to two arrests and potential links to a series of other break-ins.
Police in Angelsberg investigated a burglary at a single-family home on Rue de Mersch on Tuesday morning after the resident disturbed three perpetrators, who subsequently fled the scene.
Following an extensive search operation involving multiple police units, two of the suspects were apprehended. The search for a third individual was ultimately unsuccessful. Investigators later stated the arrested suspects could be linked to a series of other burglaries in the region, including in Lintgen, Rollingen, Gosseldange, and Mersch. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the two were taken into custody and brought before an examining magistrate.
In an unrelated case in the Gare neighbourhood, two individuals were arrested on Tuesday for stealing a tablet from a shop.
In a separate operation in the same area, police apprehended a suspected drug dealer during the sale of hashish. The dealer was found in possession of the drug, a mobile phone, and cash. Following the orders of the public prosecutor's office, this individual was also brought before an examining magistrate.
