Customers in Luxembourg tip delivery drivers an average of €1.97 per order – the highest amount among five European markets surveyed by the company Wolt.

A recent study by the delivery service Wolt has found that customers in Luxembourg are the most generous tippers in a comparison of five European markets.

The analysis, which examined tipping behaviour in Luxembourg, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Greece, revealed that while tipping is less frequent in the Grand Duchy, the average amount per tip is the highest. According to the data, 17% of Wolt customers in Luxembourg leave a tip, averaging €1.97 per delivery. This slightly exceeds the averages in Norway (€1.96) and Germany (€1.85).

Within Luxembourg, the residents of Mersch were the most generous, with an average tip of €2.14. This compares to €1.97 in Luxembourg City and €1.95 in Wiltz.

Tomás Etcheverry, General Manager of Wolt Luxembourg, confirmed that "100% of all tips go to the courier." The findings position Luxembourg residents among the most appreciative customers for good service, though the study noted that the frequency of tipping is higher in Germany and Greece, where a tip is given for one in every four deliveries.
