In recent weeks, it has become clear that the Wiltz municipal council can no longer continue in its current form of a coalition of the DP and the CSV.

Both parties made their positions known in a statement this week. The Christian Social People's Party (CSV) and the Democratic Party (DP) have reached out to the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) in this regard, but the socialist party says it must first and foremost respect the local election results for the people elected at that time to enter a future coalition.

In consequent negotiations and constructive talks, the DP and LSAP agreed to form a new majority and share responsibility, as they currently hold nine out of 13 seats on Wiltz municipal council.
