The government will triple its subsidies for municipal night transport services starting in 2026, a move aimed at expanding alternatives to private car use and improving road safety.
Beginning in 2026, the government will significantly increase its financial support to municipalities for night transport services, such as the Late-Night Bus, Night Rider, and Night Bus.
The annual state subsidy will rise from €1,500 to €4,500 per municipality, a threefold increase aimed at strengthening these alternatives to private car use.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Mobility, bolstering these services is intended to further improve road safety across the country.
