Among the latest petitions are calls to ban mobile phone use behind the wheel, make Luxembourgish compulsory in schools, and reject EU-wide chat control proposals.

The petitions can be signed online. They must reach a threshold of at least 5,500 signatures in order to be debated in the Chamber.

Among other things, the petitions demand a rejection of chat control and push for increased basic digital rights for citizens. Another calls for more severe punishments for drivers who use their mobile phone at the wheel, insisting they should immediately have their licences taken away.

Further traffic issues include a call for motorcyclists to be permitted in the carpooling lane, and another petition says buses should have their speed adjusted to 100km/h on motorways and 80km/h on country roads.

There are also two petitions that target the school curriculum. One says the French curriculum should be reduced for students in their final year of secondary school if they have an additional internship, while another calls for compulsory Luxembourgish classes in primary and secondary schools.
