The first stage of the National History Museum's (MNHA) major renovation has been completed.

After two years of work, the new entrance area and cloakroom at the MNHA on the Fish Market have been completed and officially inaugurated.

The results are modern, functional, more accessible, and aesthetically refined, shares museum director Tania Brugnoni.

"This space, architecturally in harmony with Christian Bauer's 2002 extension, allows for optimal visitor flow and better visibility for our staff. We now welcome the public into a bright, open area that serves both as a showcase for the museum and as the starting point for exploring some 7,000 square metres of exhibition space," she explained.

The cloakroom area has also been expanded to provide more space for visitors' coats and jackets, and new modern lockers have been installed where bags and shopping can be securely stored during a museum visit.
