A series of overnight incidents kept Luxembourg City police busy, with two men taken into custody for aggressive behaviour and several burglaries and car break-ins reported across the capital.
Around midnight, an employee of a hotel in Luxembourg City alerted the police after a man began causing a disturbance at the reception. The individual, who was clearly intoxicated and barely able to stand, continued to act aggressively even after officers arrived on the scene.
About an hour and a half later, around 1.30am on Sunday, police were called to a bar in Limpertsberg, where a fight had broken out. There too, officers encountered a heavily intoxicated man who had started an argument with other patrons. As both men posed a danger to themselves and others, they were taken into custody for the night.
Later, around 5am, police were called to the A6 near Capellen, where a driver had severely damaged his car. The man, who remained on the scene and attempted to explain how the accident had occurred, was found to have been drinking. A breath test confirmed the suspicion, and his driving license was temporarily confiscated.
Police also reported a burglary in a house in Duelem, during which valuables were stolen, as well as five car break-ins in Limpertsberg and three more in Rollingergrund and Dommeldange. In all cases, the perpetrators smashed vehicle windows to steal items from inside.
