A minor storm hit Limpertsberg late this morning, damaging tents and equipment set up for Saturday's royal festivities.

On the occasion of Luxembourg’s new Grand Duke, Saturday’s schedule features a string of celebrations. While several concerts are planned in Limpertsberg, the weather seems to have plans of its own.

Gusts of wind have damaged the tents set up the day before for the weekend's festivities. In this context, it should be noted that Luxembourg has been placed on yellow alert and that the alert will remain in effect until 7pm.

Rainfall is expected to intensify around midday and then ease off in the following hours. However, gusts of wind are expected to continue until early evening.

While two concerts at Glacis have been cancelled this Saturday (Marcy and My Own Ghost, originally scheduled to start around 1pm), Luxembourg City has said that other Grand Duke Tour events are still expected to proceed as planned, with the Glacis site now opening at 3pm.

Full details of the programme of festivities can be found in our live coverage of ‘Trounwiessel’.
