Luxembourg City's streets will be transformed into a giant open-air market on Monday as the 96th Grande Braderie brings more than 200 retailers, food stalls, and family activities to the city centre and Gare district.

Luxembourg City will host its 96th Grande Braderie on Monday, 1 September 2025, with more than 200 retailers setting up in the city centre and Gare district for the annual street market. Running from 9am–7pm, the Braderie will see roads in the affected districts closed to traffic and transformed into pedestrian-only zones, allowing visitors to shop, eat, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Traditionally organised at the end of summer, the Braderie is one of Luxembourg's biggest shopping events, offering bargain deals, food stalls, and activities for all ages. The municipality of Luxembourg City has encouraged visitors to make use of public transport and park-and-ride facilities to reach the market.

Among the highlights, Place d'Armes will host a giant claw machine containing over €9,000 worth of prizes donated by local retailers, as well as 300 reusable 'Cup2Go' cups. In the Gare district, Place de Paris will feature children's activities such as construction and wooden games, Lego workshops, and a graffiti session with artists Sader and Alesk.

At Place Guillaume II, visitors can view a Luxembourg Air Rescue helicopter and learn about leisure and service-sector professions.

The Grande Braderie weekend will kick off earlier this year, with special shopping offers already available in the city on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, Avenue de la Gare will also host Luxembourg's monthly flea market, where individuals can sell second-hand goods from 10am–5pm. Unlike the antique market reserved for professionals, the flea market is aimed at bargain hunters and casual strollers.
