This will be the first of six new E195-E2 model commissioned by Luxair from the Brazilian producer.

With a 136 passenger capacity, the Embraer E195-E2 aircraft were recently completed in Embraer's factory in Sao José dos Campos, Brazil.

The E2 model is the successor to its well-known sister model, the E1. After several decades, Luxair had decided to commission an order to the Brazilian aircraft company, but not before a study concluded which model would suit the needs of the Grand Duchy's national airline the most.

Next to Airbus and Boeing, Embraer is one of the largest producers of aircraft planes, as well as military aircraft and private jets.

Last week, a team from RTL was at the scene to get a first look at what's in store for Luxair travellers in the near future. According to Luxair, this recent purchase was made with the aim of modernising their aircraft fleet and to provide their clients with the best and safest service.

Aesthetically, the Luxair logo and the national flag on the back of the aircraft will be in the original colours of the Luxembourgish flag, staying true to their identity as the Grand Duchy's national airline.

Once the last finishing touches are done in Brazil and the plane takes its first flight, the plane will land at Findel in a few months with the new model's first commercial flight scheduled for the start of 2026.
