
As of 31 July 2025, 18,396 people were seeking work through ADEM, representing 495 more than in July 2024. The rise mainly affects people over 45 as well as highly qualified individuals with a university degree.
By profession, ADEM recorded the strongest increases in accounting, secretarial and assistance, IT, and transport.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate, calculated by STATEC, remained stable at 5.9%.
New registrations also increased: in July 2025, 2,857 residents signed up with ADEM, 301 more than the same month last year, marking an 11.8% rise.
Meanwhile, the number of jobseekers receiving full unemployment benefits fell by 319 (-3.1%) to 9,929 as of 31 July. Beneficiaries of partial measures stood at 4,203, a slight year-on-year drop of 2.8%.
Employers in Luxembourg declared 3,328 vacancies to ADEM in July, down 4.1% compared to a year earlier. The total number of available jobs at the end of the month was 6,747, a decrease of 10.5% compared to July 2024. This decline particularly affected accounting, construction, and road transport.
