Emergency services responded to a serious incident at Leudelange station on Wednesday evening, where a person was hit by a train shortly after 7pm.

A person was struck by a train at around 7.15pm on Wednesday evening at Leudelange station, police confirmed upon request.

On Thursday morning, the police announced that rescue services at the scene had only just been able to determine the man's death.

CFL had advised to expect delays and cancellations on Line 70 between Luxembourg City and Pétange, as well as in the direction of Athus. Replacement buses have been operating between Luxembourg City and Dippach-Reckange.
