A 33-year-old repeat offender was sentenced to six years in prison Tuesday for sexually assaulting young girls in separate incidents, just weeks after completing a prior sentence for similar crimes.

On Tuesday morning, a 33-year-old repeat offender was sentenced to six years in prison by the Luxembourg City Court for sexual assault. The man, who has a prior conviction for similar offences, targeted young girls in separate incidents in 2024.

The charges stem from an April 2024 incident in a Hesperange park, where the defendant exposed himself to young girls and attempted to force them to look at and touch his genitals. Just weeks later, he secretly filmed girls in the changing rooms of a Niederanven swimming pool.

During the trial, the accused denied the allegations related to the Hesperange park incident but admitted to the offences at the swimming pool. Investigators also discovered photos of young girls in bikinis and underwear on his mobile phone.

Prior convictions for sexual assault

The defendant is already known to authorities. In 2022, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in the toilets of a Hesperange primary school, where he filmed the assault after pulling down her underwear and kissing her genitals.

Initially sentenced to eight years in prison – with three years suspended – he later received a reduced term of six years on appeal, with three and a half years suspended. According to the newspaper Luxemburger Wort, the man re-offended just three weeks after completing his sentence.
