Police arrested a man in Strassen on Friday morning on suspicion of stealing a watch with two accomplices, amid a wider spate of car break-ins and drink-driving incidents.

A man was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of stealing a watch from a victim on Rue du Bois in Strassen, allegedly with the help of two accomplices. Acting on a tip-off and under the direction of the public prosecutor’s office, police launched a search for the suspects and apprehended one individual.

Authorities have reported a series of car break-ins in Strassen and Pfaffenthal, where windows were smashed to gain access. Police are urging residents not to leave valuables or bags visible inside vehicles and recommend consulting their website for further safety advice.

Police also reported further instances of drink-driving. Shortly before 8.30pm, a driver was stopped on Rue Guillaume between Rodange and Lasauvage. A breathalyser test confirmed alcohol consumption, and the driver’s licence was confiscated.

At around 4am, a police patrol in the park area of Differdange spotted a suspicious vehicle. The driver was found to be intoxicated and had their licence revoked after failing a breathalyser test.
