Luxembourg's 42nd Agricultural Fair opens in Ettelbruck on the weekend of 4-6 July, merging with the Luxembourg Urban Garden for a special edition highlighting the nation's farming sector.

The 42nd edition of Luxembourg's Agricultural Fair – the country's largest farming event – will take place in Ettelbruck from 4 to 6 July. This year's fair holds special significance as it shares its site with the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA).

Last year's event drew 50,000 visitors, and similar crowds are expected this year. "This is Luxembourg's premier platform to highlight our agriculture – its biggest shop window", said Minister of Agriculture Martine Hansen. Christian Hahn, President of the Chamber of Agriculture, added: "The fair bridges the gap between farmers and the public, while letting people taste local produce." Minister Hansen summarised the mission succinctly: "Making the invisible visible."

Held on a 12-hectare site, the fair will feature 330+ exhibitors. Ettelbruck's Mayor, Bob Steichen, emphasised its local importance: "As a farming town, hosting this tradition is a point of pride. Welcoming so many visitors for such a vibrant event is a joy."

Despite its popularity, organisers stress quality over record-breaking attendance: "We aim to maintain exhibitor numbers and standards, not chase visitor counts."

The 2025 edition coincides with Ettelbruck's LUGA, running since May until mid-October. Unlike the urban-focused LUGA in Luxembourg City, Ettelbruck's iteration highlights crops like maize over ornamental gardening. For one weekend, the two events merge, offering guests a deeper look at agricultural diversity. LUGA organisers hope to attract both industry professionals and the general public.
