The 2025 edition of the hopping procession in Echternach marks its 80th anniversary after the end of World War II. As the commune of Echternach already underlined, this year’s procession has taken on a national dimension.

The importance of the 2025 edition was also emphasised by the Grand Ducal couple’s acceptance of attending the hopping procession in person.

The opening mass of the 2025 hopping procession will take place at 8pm on Whit Monday, led by Stephan Ackermann, Bishop of Trier, who will welcome Christians and other attendees.

On Whit Tuesday, the first pilgrims arrive in Echternach at 5.15am.
