With nearly 90% of Luxembourg households already connected, Post Luxembourg has unveiled plans to extend its fibre optic network to virtually all addresses nationwide by 2030.
Post Luxembourg has announced plans to achieve nearly 100% fibre optic network coverage across the country by 2030, building on its current reach – approximately 90% of households.
To minimise disruption, the company attempts to coordinate construction with municipal projects and infrastructure work by the National Roads Authority, as well as utility providers for water, gas, and electricity. However, the company will proceed independently if no partners "see the need to join planned work," a Post Luxembourg representative told RTL.
Property owners and condominium associations remain responsible for arranging internal wiring connections to the network. Currently, households without fibre access benefit from pricing parity, as Post Luxembourg bases its rates on connection speed rather than technology. The company also confirmed that customers cannot subscribe to service tiers exceeding their address's available network capacity.
