Luxembourg City recently donated a €2,200 subsidy for the 50th anniversary of the pro-life non-profit organisation Vie Naissante. The majority of the city council voted in favour of financially supporting Vie Naissante on Monday.

According to Vie Naissante, their organisation is advocating for less abortions in Luxembourg, which sparked the Family Planning’s criticism. The Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP), the Green Party and the Left party voted against the support.

The Luxembourg Centre of Family Planning and Sexual and Emotional Education does not agree with the financial support of the pro-life organisation.

As a consequence, the Centre of Family Planning published a statement on Friday, asserting that this decision is contrary to the rights praised in Luxembourg.
