Police are reportedly investigating a burglary at the home of Prince Guillaume, brother of Grand Duke Henri, after jewellery and artworks were stolen in early March.
According to RTL sources, burglars have stolen art objects and jewellery belonging to the Grand Ducal family.
In response to an inquiry, the police confirmed a break-in on 8 March at a single-family home in Contern. However, as a general policy, they do not disclose the identity of victims or details about what was stolen in burglary cases.
Shortly after the publication on RTL.lu, the police requested that a witness appeal be included in the article. Potential witnesses who may have seen anything related to the incident are asked to contact the judicial police service via email at spj.rgb@police.etat.lu.
According to the police press office, one or more unknown perpetrators broke a door window to gain entry to the house. After searching the property, they fled the scene. Forensic investigators were present, and an investigation has been launched.
The Maison du Grand-Duc stated that it had no information regarding the incident.
Initially, RTL chose not to disclose the location, but for the witness appeal, it makes sense to specify the municipality where the break-in occurred.
