KFC is expanding its presence in Luxembourg with two new restaurants set to open in Capellen and the Gare neighbourhood in 2025, following the launch of its first location at Belval Plaza last year.

Fast food chains continue to grow their presence in Luxembourg, with KFC announcing plans to open two new restaurants in 2025.

Following the launch of its first location at Belval Plaza in October 2024, the US fried chicken chain will establish a drive-through and a 480m² restaurant in Capellen's business park in September 2025. This will be followed by a 200m² outlet in the Gare neighbourhood, set to open in November 2025 at 43 Avenue de la Gare. The two new locations are expected to create nearly 100 direct jobs.

"Our mission is to fully integrate our establishments into their local environment," said Jessy Audinet, KFC Franchise Manager in Luxembourg. Isabelle Herman, Managing Director of KFC France and Luxembourg, added, "Our goal is to become the leader in 'fast food' in France and Luxembourg by improving our offerings and strengthening our local presence."

According to Firce Capital, the franchise partner for KFC in Luxembourg, the country is expected to have ten KFC restaurants by 2028. Currently, the only operational location is at Belval Plaza, which opened in October 2024.

KFC France and Luxembourg also highlighted their commitment to local sourcing, with nearly 50% of their chicken supply now coming from French farms, up from 21% in 2021. Additionally, 100% of their burgers, wraps, and wings are sourced from French producers. "KFC collaborates with more than 600 French farmers," the company stated.

The expansion comes amid growing competition in Luxembourg's fast food market. Burger King, which entered the country in 2011, now operates 13 restaurants, ten of which are managed by Burger Brands Luxembourg. Meanwhile, McDonald's has around a dozen locations, though one at the Berchem service area will close at the end of April as the site transitions to management by Kuwaiti group Q8.
